Wishing everyone a Happy 牛 Year! MOooooo!

A rare moment getting most of the 4D-ians together

Family photo

Mum loves taking with the cow cos it's the 牛 year

And not forgetting yusheng....loads of yusheng lao-ed this year liaoz

And the LOLest moment in all my CNY life! My uncle, cousin and I wore the same Ralph Lauren polo T-shirt bought from the factory outlet in the US. And all of us did not buy it by ourselves either. Mine was a gift from Huiling and Yee Ling and theirs was also a gift from their youngest cousin. Now we look like we just came out from an UNO card game....minus the yellow :p

Wishing everyone a prosperous and safe year ahead! HUAT ARR!!!!!!

Childhood pics reloaded

Mum got real excited today cos my uncle passed her a CD burnt with all our childhood photos plus their childhood photos plus whatever photos that had to be scanned in from the previous decade / decades. (aka ancient photos that you will look back and drop your jaw in disbelief that kind) Anw just putting some pics up to laugh back at our childhood days...can guess which one is me? Keke....

Wows....this brings back old memories of my old house in Bukit Timah! With my many rows of cabinets filled with toys....keke

Still can't guess? Haha...ok I'm the one hugging my bro in this pic....and forever in stripes somehow...go figure!

Family lunch

An extended family lunch at Swisshotel Merchant Court. Kinda rare that all of us are present and even weirder that our parents, uncles and aunties were the ones who were more enthusiastic about taking photos than us the younger ones.

And us the younger generation, my cousins

A Christmas of Excesses

Merry Christmas to all! It's been a crazy past few days of eating and eating and drinking and drinking until I can feel my tummy bursting off!

First up on Monday, our engineers over at Exxon treated us to a farewell lunch! Finally we had a meal with our engineers after 6 months! And at Kuishin Bo at the Jurong Point branch too! Gorged myself silly cos I felt that the variety's really wide over there!

And for a very first too! Our engineers also took us out for a site visit. So Angela, Zhiwen and myself were dressed in PPE. Finally! Check it out!

S4 intern power!!

Following in the evening, had Christmas dinner with my family. International buffet with a Peranakan theme at Plaza Market Cafe. (All influenced by 小娘惹!) Omg...another buffet in the same day! I really died from eating too much good food! Only thing lacking is that they should have more of those nyonya kueis abt!!

Who the heck survives 2 buffets in one day?!?

And Christmas celebs over the next few days go on with dinner and drinks at Brewerkz with Gwen, Tony and Victor where we ordered the tower. More excesses to come...feeling full now.....

Afternoon lunch at The Pasta Shop with the Zhiwen, Angela and KW since it was a half day on Christmas Eve. Pretty decent stuff for about 10 plus bucks range. Fuller as the meals go by.....

And dinner at Cafe Iguana with the other Exxon interns where I gorged myself with fajitas and margarita. And went halfway up the island to find KW that he took us up to Thomson Road for some prata at the Prata Shop. Siao liaoz le..

Ho ho ho! Welcome to my world of excesses....gonna need some time to recover for a while.... :p

My take on Ubin Seafood

Met up with relatives for grandpa's birthday at Ubin Seafood. A bit out of the way at Blk 27 Sin Ming Road. Location was beside some industrial estate and the restaurant itself used to be the industrial canteen before renovation. Wow...trust my aunt to find places like this everytime sia..

Anw food-wise, the usual stuff includes fish, crabs, kang kong....zi char style. Selling point was their crab bee hoon, but we did not order that. Went for the crispy pork knuckle instead which went very well with the deep mustardy sauce. Black pepper crab was ok to me...not really a fan of crabs so not sure how to rate it....i'm just happy if i can get to the meat...lol! The fish not very fresh though...and the crayfish tasted funny though it came in huge portions.

Surprisingly, the staff served dessert which was the yam paste with gingko nuts complimentary cos we had 3 tables and was a birthday celebration too. Dessert damn sweet liaoz...but the younger kids seem to like it.....oh well...everytime I go for family gatherings I'm always out of touch with my cousins de...but my aunts were quite interested in asking me abt my return from SEP so at least I had something to talk about instead of the usual "hi how are you / you have grown taller / you got gf" kinda conversation.

Found the foodie review here: http://www.hungrygowhere.com/singapore/ubin_seafood_sin_ming/

Should start asking my aunt still got what places to recommend to eat...hmmm.....

Thank you, my dear friends for all the well-wishes!

Sincerely thanks to everyone with all the well-wishes by sms and facebook. All of you have really made this a special day for me. 24 yrs old le....hopefully to get a bit more wiser....hmm...or crazier? Regardless, it's another year ahead and plenty to look forward to. Thank you all!

Some pics to celebrate my birthday, all done over the long weekend...thanks to Deepavali!

Lunch with my family at Swisshotel Merchant Court and of course the usual cutting of cake at home b4-hand

Great drinking night out at Timbre where KW and the girls surprised me with a small cake, card, a bottle of booze and of course not forgeting Adec's killer goggles!!

Undoubtedly the HMmmm-ness of the night!

RH Buffet

Celebrated my bro's belated 21st birthday...and I really mean belated cos the actual date was when I called home to wish him happy bdae on Zugspitze high up on the Alps!(haha go figure when but it's a really long time)

And a family outing out on this Hari Raya holiday to our usual international buffet places...this time at Raffles Hotel.

The Billard and Buffet room

Veal meat (fabulous!!), duck in some sweet cabbage (yeow....Four Seasons still rules), butter fish (nice mix), sea bass (love the sauce that came with it)..

And not forgetting seafood...chiong the Alaskan crab man!!!!

There was also the Oktoberfest going on, so the usual familiar sights were there :)

However the food for the Oktoberfest was very very very disappointing...grilled pork, pork knuckle with mustard..taste quite ok but still not close to that in Germany...but worst of all was the sausage...u kidding me?!? Tasted like canned sausage sia......where's the wurst?!?!?

The Bavarian mushroom soup seemed to have made up for it..not too salty and light on the taste buds...but Oktoberfest without sausages?!? That's just plain wrong.... :(

Oh well....guess the saving grace would be the desserts...

And lastly how can one ever resist the chocolate fondue?!? Yummy...

White and milk chocolate fondue = double shiokness!! How often do you get a white chocolate fondue anw? :)
